An online storefront for a skate brand
The problem
A skate brand needing to sell directly, with a small catalogue and no appetite for a marketplace taking a margin.
One of my own ventures rather than a client engagement, and the reason I have opinions about what small brands should and should not pay for.
A skate brand selling directly, on the same WooCommerce stack I build client stores with. Running a shop where the margin is mine sharpens the judgement I bring to other people’s: every plugin has a maintenance cost, every payment integration is a liability as well as a feature, and most of what gets sold to small retailers as essential is not.
It is also a useful proving ground. Things get tried here before I recommend them to anyone paying me.
The outcome
A self-run storefront and web presence, built and maintained in-house.
